Favorite Restaurants

Here is a list of some of our favorite restaurants and local joints to grab breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  While the condo has a full kitchen we know that you will want to get out and experience some of the great local eateries on the island.

Main Course Price Ranges:

  • $10-$20 = “$$”
  • $20-$30 = “$$$”
  • $31-$48= “$$$$”
  • $49-$100+ = “$$$$$”

Mama's Fish HouseMama’s Fish House $$$$$ – This is an old style Hawaiian setting, and is by far the best fish house on Maui (and the most expensive.)  This was Frank Sinatra’s favorite on Maui. It is about 30 minutes from the condo, located just outside of the small town of Paia.  Google Map directions here.

Cafe O’Lei $$Located upstairs in the Rainbow Mall at 2439 S. Kihei Road. Good steaks, seafood, and Sushi bar. Lunch and dinner. Call 808-891-1369.

Kimo’s $$$ – Located in Lahaina, this is a nice outside waterfront restaurant and has a great bar. Kimo’s always has good food.

Cheeseburger Island Style $$ – This is a knock off of Jimmy Buffet’s restaurant in Key West Florida. Lots of fun, live music, located upstairs on Front Street in Lahaina. You can also visit their Facebook Page here.

Flatbread $$$ – Located in Paia. Fresh organic salads, wood fired pizza, local produce, and micro brews. What more could you ask. Call 808-579-8989 or visit the Flatbread Company online or direct to their Paia web site.

Kula Bistro $$$ – One of our new favorites!  Delicious food – HUGE portions.  Kula Bistro is a BYO, but right across the street is an old General Store with a great selection of beer and wine for lunch or dinner.  No cork fees!  Kula Bistro has fresh, flavorful cuisine in a casual family-style setting. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the bistro specializes in homestyle food with an Italian flair.  Check out their website here.

Kea Lani Hotel $$$ – This is a great place for a special buffet breakfast. Enjoy your meal pool side at an unusual hotel. Very nice. Located in Wailea about 10 minutes away from our condominium.

Tommy Bahama’s $$$ – For a classy casual atmosphere serving Island cuisine and tropical drinks. Located in the Shoppes at Wailea.

Longhi's Wailea
Longhi’s Wailea

Longhi’s Wailea $$$$ – Located in the Wailea Shops (No View) 3750 Wailea Ala Nui, Wailea, Maui, Hawaii. Classy restaurant, has always been good, and has been on Maui for many years. Call 808-891-8883 for information or visit their website.

“Bev Gannon Restaurants”

There are two restaurants on the island owned by Bev Gannon. They are Hali’imaile (holly-molly) General Store, and Gannons. Usually when you eat at one of them your check receipt is good for 20% off at of her other restaurants.

  1. Gannon’s (Dinner $$$$ / Lunch $$$ / Breakfast $$ / Happy Hour $)  – Located at the Wailea Emerald Golf Course. “One of the best views on Maui.” You can be served a very classy meal or if you arrive before 7PM they have a happy hour. A port of the restaurant is set aside for the happy hour. Drinks are 1/2 price and there is a limited 1/2 price menu. Located at 100 Wailea Golf Club Drive. Call at 808-875-7462 or visit their website.
  2. Hali’imaile General Store
    Hali’imaile General Store

Hali’imaile General Store (Dinner $$$$ / Lunch $$$) – A hard choice, but this is our favorite.  Somewhat “up country”, but it short 30 minute and easy drive (Google Maps). Head up Rt. 37 towards Haleakala Crater. Take the first left onto Rt. 371.  The Restaurant is a little ways ahead on the right and you cannot miss it.  The setting is an old general store, but always a very classy meal.  Always fresh catch seafood and, of course, their famous ribs!  Reservations are suggested so make plans and call them at 808-572-2666. Visit their website.

“VERY LOCAL JOINTS”

So what is a “Local Joint?”  Super casual where locals enjoy grabbing a bite to eat.  These are smaller local eateries that are easy to overlook.  There are many on the island, but here are some of our favorites.
